Penguins, Pelicans and Bees

We slept in a bit and then headed to Tripadvisor's number one restaurant which is located in a gas station.  It was actually delicious.

Then we went to a honey manufacturer for a very informative tour.

The queen is marked.

That's a full honey comb.

That's an empty honey comb.

That's wax.

That's where they spin the honey comb to empty it.

That's the honey.

There bears are shaped like koalas--makes sense.

Then some milk ices--delightful and not bad for you.

Then we did the cliff walk.

Then we saw them feed the pelicans.  These things were crazy weird looking.  At first I thought it was people in costumes because they looked fake.

Then we continued the walk.  The rocks are super interesting because under the water is a dormant volcano.

Then we toured a small aquarium which was very cool.  They described the courting ritual of the seahorses, how the puff up their belly and bow, etc. and then it did it right before our eyes.

Those sea stars are real.

Then we joined a tour to go find penguins.  They fish all day so they can only be found at night usually when they are molting.  They use a red light because they are not used to the sunlight which will damage their eyes.

It was tough to get pictures because they are all hiding but we were really close (about 1 foot) and they were making tons of noise.  It was very cold at night we were told because the wind blows from Antartica 4000 miles away.
