From Vang Vieng to Vientiane

We left Vang Vieng, Laos and drove to Vientiane, Laos with our guide and driver.  It was about a 2.5 hour drive but very interesting.  We stopped along the way to see first a fish market.

Our guide is hilarious.

Stopped at a motorcycle parking spot/toilet--gross.

Wandered around a Hmong market.

Then arrived at our hotel.

Then to the pool after lunch.

Then to the president's palace.

And to a museum of old Buddhas that was destroyed during the war then repaired.

Then wandered around the city saw a gate.

And the famous black stupa.

Then to the Mekong river.  The other side of it is Thailand.

And saw the statue of the founder of the city...

And saw the sunset...

Then went to the night market...

Some car show at the night market...

A little dancing...

Salads and bagels...  We needed a break from Lao food...

Another great night...
