Angkor WHAT?

WARNING:  There are a lot of pictures in this post so feel free to skim through quickly.

First our guide (an English teacher) took us to see Angkor Wat...

There were lots of monkeys...

There were echo chambers where you pound your chest to make the echo...

The detail was amazing especially given it is 1000 years old...

The steps were steep...

We had fun exploring...

Then we saw our favorite temple, Bayon or the temple with four faces...

Then we saw the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King...

Then we saw Baphuon...

Very steep stairs on this one...

With a huge reclining Buddha made of stone (look closely to see the face)...

Then we took a boat ride toward Tonlesap (a very large lake) to see the floating village called Chong Kaneas...

It was chaos...

The kids driving us were young...

Then we stopped at some floating restaurant/bar with sickly crocodiles...

The boat stopped working briefly on the way back; it was held together by string and wire...

We saw the Flooded Fairy Forest on the way home...
