From the Serengeti to Zanzibar

We started the day early to do a quick game drive before heading to the "airport" for our flight to Zanzbar.  We immediately found the same group of Cheetahs.

Then a new group of lions.

Then we found a leopard.  They are usually tough to find because they are nocturnal and very good at hiding in a tree.  This one was busy moving her cubs from one hiding place to another.  We didn't have time to wait for her to move them because of our flight but we got some great pictures as she walked toward them.

Then onto another scary small plane.  This time they have no co-pilot.

The runway is very bumpy and rattles open the door just before we take off.  The pilot notices and stops.  Surprisingly and happily a fire engine is immediately driving down the dirt runway behind us.  They help secure the door and we are off to try for take two.

The views are excellent.

The lookout at the crater.

A boma.

Where we land.

Another plane flight from Arusha to Zanzibar with no copilot.  That's a passenger seated in the copilot's seat.

That's the historic stone town in Zanzibar.

Then we are driven to our hotel.  That is a local bus packed solid in front of us.

The hotel is beautiful but more on that later.
